Course contents

Website Builder course is an exciting journey of designing, building, and publishing, taking the young learners through all aspects that go into website building. Each session is focused on developing critical skills that show creativity amalgamated with technical expertise.

Website Explorer

First, they begin with the characteristics of well-designed websites. Students view examples to determine what in a site would make it visually appealing, easy to navigate, and secure. This session teaches them how to be critical about the content online, thereby preparing them as they go about designing their own kid-friendly websites.

Smart Search

Students will be sharpening their research skills with the effective techniques of finding appropriate and reliable information online. The strategies will be applied in gathering resources and content ideas for future web pages.

Designer’s Blueprint

Students will design their own website. They are to brainstorm ideas, organize the content in their websites, and make decisions on relevant links that would attract the audience. By working through a formal planning process, students create rough drafts of a functional yet engaging site.

Home Page Creation

Students design their Home Page, including the creative and visually attractive introduction of their website. They begin playing with the layout, creating banners, and assigning a title in order to make the page informative, yet friendly.

Pages Builder

Students will each design an individual topic page that links off their Home Page. Pages will contain well-organized content and interactive links, which transport visitors to other resources. This will make the user's experience easy to maneuver and interesting.

Publish Like a Pro

The last session is devoted to polishing and publishing. Thence, students use a checklist in refining their website, making sure all the links really work, and that the content is polished. Next, proudly launch the site and share it with others; celebrate your accomplishment as creators of the Web.
